How would you select a season of plays for Remy Bumppo? What qualities make a play "think theatre"? And what other factors and forces shape the selection process? Selecting a theatre season is much more involved than just choosing three plays that you like. Join us on the literary advisory board for an immersion into the experience of the Remy Bumppo season selection process - and get a sneak peek at some of our possible future mainstage candidates!

Each year, Producing Artistic Director, the Artistic Associates, and the Ensemble Members explore hundreds of plays in an effort to forge an exciting new season. This class mirrors that process by introducing you to 12 of the plays that have caught our attention. Join Ensemble Member and Professor of Theatre Peter Davis and Artistic Assistant and theatre director Ian Frank--and your classmates-- in lively discussions about the merits and complexities of each play and production, and discover how to develop a well-balanced season out of the best pieces. And then the class will pitch their season to Producing Artistic Director in the final session. Your choices might even appear on our mainstage!
