In Chicago, Peter has worked with Defiant Theatre (A Clockwork Orange), Strawdog (Three Sisters), Steppenwolf (understudy for August: Osage County and The Unmentionables). He has also worked as a dramaturg at Steppenwolf (Sonia Flew), Writer’s Theatre (The Turn of the Screw) and for three seasons was the resident dramaturg at Remy Bumppo (2005-2008). He holds a master’s degree in directing and a PhD in theatre history from the University of Southern California. Peter is currently a professor of theatre at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he is the Director of Graduate Studies and chair of the Theatre Studies program.
