ABOUT JIM

Jim Davis (he/him) joined the staff at Remy Bumppo Theatre Company in August of 2025.  He formerly worked at Music Theater Works after spending seven years as Associate Production Manager and Producing Director for Imagine U Family Theater Series at Northwestern University’s Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts. While at NU, he produced the annual Backstage Evanston event and production stage managed NU’s annual commencement at Ryan Field. He was recently asked to return to Northwestern to Production Manage the 94th annual Waa-Mu show ARCH MADNESS. Other recent Credits include five years as Executive Producer of the St. Louis Working Women’s Show, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra WELCOME YULE from 2007 to 2009 at, seven seasons at Next Theatre Company and over 100 productions on a freelance basis here in Chicago, NYC, across America in national tours and in his former home of St. Louis.

Fun Facts about Jim:

He is a proud pug dad of two adorable smushy-faced pugs, Dooley and Gertie. He’s from southern Missouri and grew up as the son of a county sheriff, so he had no choice other than being a very good boy. He’s an avid gardener and has a few super-secret favorite places at the Chicago Botanic Garden. He’s also the owner of a Christmas home interior decorating company called Holiday Home Creative where he decorates lots of fancy Christmas Trees in fancy houses and businesses in an amazing array of color combinations (who knew that brown and black are such popular and trendy Christmas home décor colors?). He also connected his love of theatre and Christmas when he did the set decoration for a recent huge production of WHITE CHRISTMAS! His first job after relocating here to Chicago was The Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade where he supervised a staff of volunteers who were responsible for the careful spacing of the parade, to make sure that it looked great on television.
