Marissa Fenley is a Harper Schmidt Collegiate Assistant Professor in Theater and Performance Studies at the University of Chicago and the Literary Fellow at Court Theatre. Broadly speaking, her scholarship theorizes the ways that theatrical techniques, from puppetry practice to affective prosthetics to plasticity, put the natural body under pressure. Marissa is also a dramaturg and puppeteer and works with Chicago-based theater company, Local Lab Co., to incubate community-driven new works.
