Aurora Real de Asua

ABOUT AURORA

Aurora is an actor and playwright whose first experience with Remy Bumppo was playing Dull Gret/Angie in Top Girls this past February during which she consumed over fifty Hawaiian rolls on stage over the course of the run. Over the last few years she has performed at the Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Court Theatre, Northlight, Victory Gardens, Rivendell, and the Hypocrites, among others. She has also workshopped plays with Victory Gardens, Rivendell, Sideshow, and Greenhouse. Perhaps what she is most proud of is being an emcee for Chicago Shakespeare Theatre’s Shakespeare Slam, which is a city-wide competition for high schoolers performing Shakespeare. She is from both the Bay Area and the Basque Country, and is a proud Northwestern graduate. She is currently developing a one-woman show about the life of Jane Goodall told through the perspectives of Jane’s chimpanzees called Aping Jane. When not performing or writing, she is on the prowl for a good beach. Above anything else, Aurora loves rice.
