Eduardo Xavier

Eduardo Xavier (he/him/his) is a Chicago born and based actor whose work has been featured across the country. Chicago credits include Anna in the Tropics (Remy Bumppo Theatre Company); Nancy García Loza’s RUST (The Goodman: New Stages); Isaac Gomez’ The Leopard Play, or sad songs for lost boys (Steep Theatre). Regional credits include Marisela Treviño Orta’s The River Bride (American Players Theatre); Bryna Turner’s At The Wedding (TheatreSquared). Film credits include Station Eleven (HBO Paramount).

“One of my first jobs in the theater was to understudy The Life of Galileo at Remy Bumppo (2016). The weekend I was asked to “step in,” I inadvertently knocked a prop Ptolemaic model off Galileo’s desk, thereby shattering both the model and my heart rate. Though making room for the Copernican model was dramaturgically sound, I consider myself lucky to be asked back all these years later. My grandparents still wish me “break a prop” before a performance.”

Chiké Johnson

Chiké Johnson (he/him/his) recently appeared as Galileo in Remy Bumppo Theatre Company’s world premiere of Galileo’s Daughter, and as Alberga in the Goodman Theatre’s production of Toni Stone. Other recent productions include: Nativity Variations at The Milwaukee Rep; Hamlet and A Raisin In The Sun at American Players Theatre. Other credits include: Amen Corner at Shakespeare Theater Company, Sweat at American Conservatory Theatre and Our Town at The Milwaukee Rep. He also was in the world premiere of When Harry Met Rehab. Broadway credits: Wit at Manhattan Theatre Club and Commercial’s production of A Time To Kill.

“When you find good people to work with, you tend to want to stay connected. Marti is an awesome leader, Linda was a wonderful partner in Galileo’s Daughter, and everyone else associated with Remy Bumppo was so lovely that the decision to join the Core Ensemble was a no brainer. I am fortunate to have been asked to be a part of such a wonderful circle of people.”
