David S. Lipschultz

David has been a civil rights attorney for over twenty years. His previous career was in international relations and international human rights, which led him to live for several years each in both Washington, D.C. and Prague, Czech Republic. David’s interest in theatre began in high school in the 1980s, when his divorced father filled visitation time by bringing him to plays at Victory Gardens, the Body Politic, and Steppenwolf. It is not an exaggeration to say that David moved to Prague after the Velvet Revolution, in part, after being inspired by playwright Vaclav Havel’s success in leading underground theatre and dissident movements to overthrow communism in Central and Eastern Europe. David was active in non-profit management in the Czech Republic, and has served on the board of directors of Chicago Jewish Day School and Temple Sholom of Chicago, the latter of which he served as its board president. Most importantly, David is the happy husband of Arin, a psychologist, and beaming father of his teenager, Micah.
