Directing: Fundamentals

For new directors and experienced directors alike, Directing: Fundamentals will explore the basics of directing with a focus on preparation for rehearsal and production. This class will provide tools for how to read and discuss plays, how to prepare for collaboration with designers, how to engage in deep textual analysis, and how to prepare rehearsal methodologies. Students will read multiple plays that will be the basis for analysis and discussion. This class is an opportunity to develop or brush up on skills under the guidance of Artistic Director Marti Lyons.

Directing Fundamentals is one in a sequence of 3 directing courses offered by Remy Bumppo, but the classes do not need to be taken sequentially and may be taken more than once.
