Bio

James co-founded the company in 1996 and served as the Artistic Director of Remy Bumppo through the 2010/2011 Season. He directed over thirty productions for the company, including six by Tom Stoppard. For many years he has worked at American Players Theatre in Spring Green, WI, where he has directed eleven plays by Shakespeare, four by Shaw, and three by Stoppard, among others. He is the owner of Arcadia Books In Spring Green.

Bio

James co-founded the company in 1996 and served as the Artistic Director of Remy Bumppo through the 2010/2011 Season. Among the many shows he has directed for the company are HapgoodSome Americans AbroadArcadia, and Tartuffe. James has directed for many seasons at American Players Theatre in Spring Green, Wisconsin. He came late to the theater, after spending his twenties teaching history and English in a program for high school dropouts. He now runs Arcadia Books in Spring Green.
