REMY BUMPPO COVID-19 UPDATE:

Dear friends and theatre lovers,

Today is a day that we hoped wouldn’t come to pass, a day we have fought valiantly, creatively, and optimistically against for as long as possible.

It is with profound sadness that we share with you that Remy Bumppo has been forced to cancel the last production in our 19/20 season, The Agitators.

Our hearts are heavy, and there are no words that can capture how deeply disappointed we are. Despite amazing pivots and creative thinking by the whole Agitators team over the last few weeks regarding how we might bring Mat Smart’s terrific, timely play to you, we finally have to acknowledge, with huge regret, that there are too many risks to continue responsibly with production, and the health and safety of all our community must be our priority.

If you have previously purchased a subscription or tickets, you should have already received an email from us about your reservation. If you have any questions, please call us at 773.344.9216. Our staff is available to help you from 10am – 2pm Monday through Friday.

We thank YOU, our wonderful community of supporters and friends, for your patience and belief in our work. We know how much live theater means to you. We know that this is a further lost opportunity to gather, share, dream, and create. We miss you.

If we have learned anything from the last ten weeks, it’s that art is essential–and live performance especially. It is during these darkest of times that we turn to the arts for comfort, inspiration, and community. Theatre impacts every part of our lives, helps us understand and make sense of difficult times. The arts help shape the ideas that shape our world.

We know that think theatre will continue on. Thank you for believing in us.
